On February 16th, Signature Styles hosted a spring hands-on haircutting workshop — a day of learning, creativity, and connection. Owner Tess Onorato welcomed guest instructor Tuan Nguyen to lead stylists through some of the most exciting cuts of the season, with special guest student Justin joining for a live hands-on demonstration.
The workshop focused on precision, technique, and adaptability — exploring how today's trending styles can be tailored to suit a wide range of hair textures, face shapes, and personal aesthetics.
Trends we explored
- Box Bob — Clean lines, bold geometry, and a structured silhouette that makes a statement.
- Butterfly Layers — Flowing, face-framing layers inspired by the natural movement of butterfly wings.
- Bixie Cut — The perfect hybrid of a pixie and bob: effortlessly versatile and full of personality.
Having a live model in the room made all the difference. Stylists were able to practice real-time cutting techniques, ask questions, and see firsthand how each style transforms on an actual head of hair. It was hands-on learning at its best.

The Box Bob brought geometry and boldness to the floor, while Butterfly Layers offered a softer, more romantic approach with cascading movement. The Bixie Cut rounded out the session with its playful versatility and modern edge.
